2018 began with members of the Sikh community planting a Silver Birch tree to celebrate the Sikh Environmental day. BOB added more flowers and plants to the park with three new planters made by Workbridge. To help with the planting we received a donation of topsoil, compost and a wheelbarrow from Wickes. We hosted more wellbeing activities with funding from First for Wellbeing and Northamptonshire Community Foundation, holding keep fit sessions and our regular Sunday morning health walks. BOB continued with park tidy days and regular litter picks, and took part in Northampton in Bloom. Volunteers planted up shoes and decorated railing and the playground with the shoe installations. Love Your Park week was celebrated in July, with volunteers creating a bug house in the park. Colour was added to the trees with origami cranes, in time for many events that took place over the summer; Northampton Beer festival, the Bardic Picnic, screening of the Kinky Boots film and the Nene Festival. At the end of the year BOB hosted our second Christmas Elf Door hunt, welcoming over 300 elf door hunters! BOB's hard work was celebrated this year, with several awards. Nick won a Heart of the Community award, and BOB was awarded Gold and Best Newcomer at the Northampton in Bloom awards. We were also nominated in the Trailblazer cartegory in Northamptonshire Community Foundations awards.
